Good morning, City Councilmembers, City Clerk Herren and staff,
Im writing to express appreciation to the city for providing the Community
Funding Program to local nonprofits, and to staff and subcommittee members
Councilmembers Schmidt and Wise for their recommendations.
Nancy and I are excited to implement a zero-waste, non-plastic
reusable party pack system that Menlo Park residents can borrow at no cost
for their gatherings. Helping residents avoid disposable ware aligns with
350 Silicon Valleys climate mission and with the Environmental Quality
Commissions recommendations to reduce single use plastic. Weve borrowed
similar party packs from our friends in Palo Alto - and are excited to
bring this idea to Menlo Park to support planet-loving, community-building
fun 💚
I would have loved to attend tonights meeting but have a conflict at the
same time.
