Dear Council Members, Burgess Pool is a wonderful community asset: well-run, maintained, and offering reasonably priced services to all, in a beautiful setting. Swimming is not only one of the best forms of exercise and physical therapy, it supports emotional well being. Other area pools, opened for weeks now, have demonstrated the feasibility of social distancing and effective safety measures. As a long time lap swimmer, and as a parent who’s child learned vital swimming skills thanks to Burgess’ excellent instructors, I urge you to promptly approve Team Sheeper‘s comprehensive operational plan and re-open Burgess Pool immediately.
