Dear Mayor Taylor and City Council Members, I am writing in support of the Climate Action Plan and goal of zero carbon emissions by 2030. This is the kind of bold action that's needed to address the overwhelming and looming impacts of climate change. As a young adult, I am extremely concerned about climate change and the impacts it will have on myself, my peers, and future generations, especially those who are low-income and people of color who are disproportionately at risk of the impacts of environmental degradation. In Menlo Park, we see this inequity with Belle Haven residents being most at risk and affected by pollution and a rising sea level.
