Dear City Council,
Im wondering if you ever go out and check how things actually are in
downtown Menlo Park or if you just like spouting platitudes.
Be aware that Ive switched both my hairdresser and my manicurist because I
was always late no matter how early Id shown up. The manicurist was at
TOE (Touch of Elegance) and my hairdresser was at Piccola Bella Hair Design
,
both on Crane Street where youre planning on putting parking!
I -- and many others hoping to do business in Menlo Park -- typically
wasted 30 minutes circling downtown looking for parking -- a time frame
that just kept getting longer and more frustrating.
Finally after I realized Id have to waste an hour looking for parking and
driving alllllllllllllllllllllllll the way from Palo Al , I took my
business AND sales tax elsewhere!
Do us all a favor and look at what happens to DYING downtowns and housing
projects like Cabrini-Greene in Chicago whose problems became so bad they
finally had to be demolished.
Please dont destroy Menlo Park now that the presence of The Guild and new
restaurants are starting to revitalize it.
I loved my TOE manicurist and hope to be able to return.
Most sincerely,
Jo Ann Mandinach
