Dear Menlo Park City Council,
I received an email that Belle Haven and Burgess Pools will be closed from December 24 until January 1 for some kind of HOLLIDAY POOL Closure reason.
WHY? WHY are you letting Tim Sheeper to run both pools as his personal entity?
How this Holliday Pool Closure is serving Menlo Park residents?
Why Tim Sheeper is closing Pools this year, but he never closed them before???
As Menlo Park resident I am very upset that Menlo Park City Council cannot have control over Menlo Park Pools!.
I am planning to raise this question between my fellow swimmers and I will be posting this online and I’ll request a local newspaper to publish this too

I often visit the pool during my lunch break or on days off to enjoy a mid-day swim. These new cuts now fall into what appears to be Sheeper’s “Fiesta” or reserved hours, further reducing public access to a community facility.
How was such a decision allowed to go forward under the oversight of the Menlo Park City Council? Should the personal business interests of a private operator outweigh the needs of the Menlo Park community?
I am expressing my concern not just as an individual, but as part of a larger group of swimmers who rely on Burgess Pool for health, wellness, and recreation. I plan to reach out to other members and encourage them to voice their opposition to these changes as well.
I respectfully urge the City Council to review and reconsider this decision in light of its impact on the community you serve.
