Good afternoon esteemed members of Cuty Council and senior city leaders.
This is public comment regarding the Greystar project (Menlo Uptown on Constitution). It is my opinion that Greystar must act in good faith and pay the full In lieu fee of $9.8 million now before getting the Temporary Certificate of Occupancy. The way I understand it, Greystar has not provided an adequate plan for an approved community amenity from the list city council adopted.
I would also like to urge city council to direct staff to work with developers and planners to create an actual plan for the M2 area that takes into account what these residents will need - access to food, shopping, transportation, recreation, pharmacy, bank, etc., and examines the safety and distances of pedestrian and bicycle circulation for existing services in the area. For example, the current closest ATMs are on Haven Avenue or Hamilton Avenue. The current closest Farmers Market is in downtown Menlo Park.
Please consider how far away those services are with fewer individuals driving and what kind of strain door-to-door individual deliveries put on our environment and Climate Action Plan.
