I think I understand from the staff report for item K-2 that improvements to Bay Rd. and Pierce Road combined is to cost 1.5 million. When residents of the Flood Triangle walked Bay Rd. with councilman Drew Combs and city manager Justin Murphy on October 8, 2022 Murphy said the cost of improvements to Bay from VanBuren Rd. to Ringwood was a “2 million dollar capital improvement project”. Over 3 years later it is not? The staff report does not mention addressing the drainage problem at Bay and Meno Oaks. Bay Rd. needs wider sidewalks with curbs for the safety of pedestrians and bicyclists. Bay Rd. Is going to get more traffic once SRI, USGS, 320 Sheridan are built. Now is the time to implement the best road and sidewalks to last for years. I am exhausted with my neighborhood being ignored by the city. I have lived here for 43 years and have felt my neighborhood was ignored from the time I moved here. VanBuren Rd. was not maintained by the city until a few years ago when a neighbor and I walked the road with a city employee resulting in a maintenance contract. We deserve better just like the rest of the city.
