Hello Council,
In order to provide direction on possibilities for providing programming at the Belle Haven Pool I have the following comments.
We do not like the current operator of the pool at the Belle Haven Community Campus. The changes we, as a community, would like to see would be for the city to run the pool at the campus under the direction of Tricia Mullan, the current Library and Community Services Supervisor.
Also, we would like to have aquatics programs for seniors at the senior center, such as Aqua Yoga, Ai Chi, and other low-impact water fitness classes. These programs need to be offered at a discounted rate for seniors. Classes of this type are currently being taught in the City of Sunnyvale, so there are available instructors that Menlo Park can connect with.
The hours and availability of these new classes should be posted on the Menlo Park website to ensure accurate information regarding the aquatics program is readily available.
