It recently came to my attention that you are proposing to charge yearly fees for news racks in Menlo. This is yet another terrible decision by the Menlo Park City Council. You now want to charge a fee for newspapers to have news racks. This is a terrible idea and it appears that you now want to kill all local press. Not everyone reads solely online and our local press is very important to keeping our community connected and informed about important local issues. You are putting this to vote Tuesday night Ap 28 with no prior public notice other than being deeply buried on page 241 in a 245-page proposal. Another example of your poor governance.
