I became aware of the possibility that the city is planning to charge the publishers of newspapers based on the number of distribution containers they use. This is based on the Palo Alto Daily Post article.
As far as I know, these free newspapers would be TAXED for providing access to daily news to the people of Menlo Park.
I am NOT supportive of this scheme. And I will certainly choose to avoid spending any money in the city if this misguided proposal is approved. This means that I will not pay for any taxable items in the city: restaurants, food, gas, new cars, or any other taxable items. And NO hotel stays for visiting friends and relatives. It is quite easy to shop and dine at nearby towns that support free speech. And I would gladly support a “boycott Menlo Park” program.
