Lack of Response by Public Work and Fire to Dangerous Situation

To Menlo Park City Council,
My wife and I walk at least daily in Sharon Heights, going up Lassen Dr. from Sharon Park Dr.
Almost two weeks ago, on Friday 01 May, we noticed a dangerous situation with a large branch broken off but still hanging above the sidewalk on Lassen Dr.
The branch was at least 8-10 feet long, with a diameter of about 4-5 inches.  Had it fallen while someone was walking underneath on the sidewalk it could would have resulted in serious injury, or worse.
We called the Menlo Park Public Works phone line Friday afternoon about 4:15, when supposedly the office was still open.  We received a recording that the office was closed.
We then called the Police non emergency number who transferred me to the fire department, where I explained the situation.  They assured me that they would take a look for fix the situation.
We continued to see the branch still precariously hanging over the side walk for another several days.
On Friday 08 May I called the Public Works number again, and left a voicemail with the details.
We continued to see the tree branch hanging until we were able to approach someone from the house behind where it was hanging who was able, with some effort, to pull down the  branch.
Our issue is that nothing was done with this situation for almost two weeks, and then was fixed by a private person.  It seems that all of the city personnel made no effort to fix this.
I always left my contact details in case more information was needed but I was never contacted.
We suggest you check with your teams to see that these dangerous situations receive more of a priority.
I attach images of the branch hanging, and after it was pulled down by the gentleman.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
