Councilmembers,
On a recent walk down Middle toward Safeway, I counted 9 cars parked in the
angled parking at Nealon Park that were *not* backed-in; instead, they had
parked with their headlights toward the sidewalk. I also observed two
cars, one of which had parked correctly and the other not, make
unanticipated and illegal driving maneuvers as they left their parking
spots.
While this is obviously only one data point, it mirrors multiple
observations that the back-in angled parking is not working and may be more
dangerous. I urge the City Council to return Nealon parking to some form
of traditional parking.
