Dear Mayor Nash, Council Member Taylor and Members of City Council,
I am building off of Eduardo’s advocacy for this initiative to also express
my strong support for the Habitat for Humanity project at 335 Pierce Road
in the Belle Haven neighborhood. As a resident who lives just a few blocks
from this development site, I know firsthand how vital this project is to
our community’s resilience and stability.
This initiative directly addresses housing displacement and strengthens the
neighborhood by making homeownership accessible to those who have built
deep roots here. This project isn’t just about new homes; it’s about
ensuring future generations can *continue* living in this neighborhood we
cherish.
To make this vision a reality, I support the fee concession waiver if it
lowers the cost per unit for buyers so as to make home ownership affordable
for legacy residents who want to stay in Belle Haven for decades, not just
one generation.
Thank you for your dedication to creating inclusive, thriving
neighborhoods. I look forward to your commitment to this project and to the
future of Belle Haven.
