Many years ago I lived on Noel Drive where I experienced the ear splitting noise from Caltrain every day. Nowadays, my husband and I enjoy having coffee at St. Franks….except when the train horns are blasting. The safest, most effective long term solution to the noise is grade separation. It also happens to be the most expensive. I think it's worth the expense to prevent horrific deadly accidents at the crossings and give everyone in our community relief from deafening noise. Spending on grade separation makes more sense to me than paying for a study to try to come up with a perhaps modestly effective reduction in horn noise that does nothing to improve overall safety near the tracks.
We need grade separations at Ravenswood and one other street, and to close off the two other Menlo Park crossings.
I’m wondering when Caltrain will start running electric trains, and when will the pedestrian underpass be completed?
