Ladies and Gentlemen:
I write in hopes that you will sincerely consider denying an outdoor music permit to Cafe Zoe at 1929 Menalto Avenue.
The small shops that were built several decades ago in the midst of residential homes were never intended to provide amplified outdoor music on a regular basis. They were built for the convenience of local shopping. Entertainment was then, and should still be, at a destination citizens can drive to -- i.e., commercially zoned areas.
This cafe, which started as a coffee shop, has morphed into a wine and beer musical venue. All this in a neighborhood of people's homes.
Please protect the integrity of Menlo Park being a good place to live. There are other locations already existing for commercial music.
Would you want to live near outdoor entertainment every single weekend? Or would you want your home to be a place of peace and quiet?
Help keep Willows residential, please!
Sincerely,
Anne McCarthy
