Hello.
I live near the San Francisquito Creek on the Palo Alto side. I have lived
on Everett Ave for twenty years. I am less than half a mile away from 80
Willow Road.
As a renter, I see the value of additional housing, especially affordable
housing. However, I have long been very concerned about the old Sunset
Magazine campus. What is being proposed there now—quite simply—has no place
there.
I am very concerned about the environmental impacts to the creek. I am very
concerned about the lack of proper infrastructure. I am very concerned
about the reduced privacy of residents living near the area. I am very
concerned about the impacts of construction.
I have talked to numerous neighbors, and absolutely no one wants these
towers to be built. I am most concerned that a few people with money and/or
power should be allowed to overrule the voices of so many who actually live
here and call it home.
If these towers are allowed to be built as proposed, they will be a tragic
symbol of what money can buy—anything it wants—despite the wishes of many.
This is not downtown Los Angeles or downtown San Francisco. Towers do not
belong here. Please do not let this happen. It is irresponsible.
