Dear City Council,
I am a resident of Menlo Park and have owned my home at 330 Claremont Way
for almost 27 years, three blocks from 80 Willow Road. We raised our three
children here, and they attended Menlo Park public schools and Menlo
Atherton High School. This is our home and our most important community.
We have deeply involved ourselves in many aspects of the community and
always shop locally. The proposed development at 80 Willow Road is
ridiculous and in no way makes any sense for our community. Three
high-rises at the corner of a residential area, measuring up to 39 stories,
heavily comprised of commercial space, will create an enormous increase in
traffic, school attendance, unsafe biking conditions, and an environmental
impact on the creek. Also, the general insanity of high-rises among single-
and two-story homes, apartments, and office buildings should stop this
project. I urge you to vote against this project even if it means we will
have a lawsuit. We need to stand up for what is right for our community!
