Dear Council Member,
As a longtime homeowner on Pope Street, I ask that you do everything in your power to prevent the proposed construction at the Sunset Magazine site. While I understand that there is a need for more affordable housing in the community, the scale of the proposed construction is obviously way out of line for that location. I am deeply concerned that such a massive structure would clearly alter the ambiance of the community and our quality of life here.
For one thing, Willow Road and Middlefield clearly already have too much traffic, particularly Willow Road, which is the community’s access to 101.
It would make much more sense to house such a large number of people near to one of the railroad stations so that they would have access to public transportation without having to drive and enter into the already overtaxed local traffic.
Another concern I have is the impact on the creek of such a large structure at its border. The creek is a central feature of our community that brings us pleasure as well as problems.
Any public servant that supports this project clearly does not have the community’s interests at heart.
