Dear Council,
I support converting public parking lots in downtown for housing uses. It is not just a promise we made in our housing element, but it will literally activate downtown, thereby stabilizing our valuable retailers, as we have seen with other neighboring municipalities. Yay for strong cities, strong commerce, strong residents, and strong climate resiliency.
I am concerned how many residents are not reading the staff report and think that somehow the City is proposing the elimination of parking uses, based on the comments submitted to you thus far and on NextDoor. This is not the case as demonstrated on page 15 of the staff report. I just want to be sure that concern is addressed immediately, so that other legitimate concerns can be focused on.
Thanks for all your hard work and service to us, as always,
Jenny from the Coleman Place Neighborhood block :)
