To all current members of the Menlo Park City Council:
My wife and I have called Menlo Park home for almost 30 years. We are appalled and extremely disturbed that the proposal known as 80 Willow Road is extant and still being considered. It is wholly out of keeping and inconsistent with the character of the residential community in which it would be built. In short, it is an abomination. Should this proposal proceed to fruition, it will be a stain forever on the present and future of this lovely community and will serve as a monument to the feckless manner in which this City has been handling this matter since its inception.
It is not too late to do the right thing, to step up and take a fearless stand. It is most certainlly not the time to surrender to the edicts, suggestions or misguided inclinations of Sacramento bureaucrats or the threats of litigation by the would-be developer; it is the time to fight this ill-conceived proposal in every way possible until it is withdrawn or defeated once and for all. We urge you to make every effort (including but not limited to litigation!) to oppose this nightmare of a proposal.
It goes without saying that no member of the City Council will have our vote or our support unless he or she makes every concerted effort to fight this proposal vigorously in compliance with the above directives.
