Hello,
I am writing to express my strong opposition to the proposed development project at 80 Willow Road (N17’s proposal). The proposal is wildly out of scale for Menlo Park. I am happy to work with the City and see the Sunset property revitalized and developed, but this proposal is ridiculous. This site does not have the infrastructure to accommodate significantly more traffic (Willow Road being 1 lane all the way to the freeway, and Middlefield similarly being 1 or 2 lanes at its widest) nor does it have easy access to public transportation. New housing should be equitably distributed thoughout the city, yet there is a desproportionate amount focused in District 3.
Please note my strong opposition to this project. I cannot convey enough how absurd I think this situation is, that it’s even being considered at a level where I need to write to oppose it. Any reasonable person would look and realize this is a terrible proposal. That Menlo Park has zero high-rises and someone is proposing 3 significant high rises, and not even immediately abutting the Cal Train station or something like that, is crazy.
