Honorable Mayor and City Council Members,
I am a long-time resident of Menlo Park and former EQC member.
This is to urge you to require electric models to be installed when any gas appliance is replaced in existing homes and buildings, effective January 1, 2024.
Please also provide financial help to the extent needed and do broad community outreach and education on this change.
Lets help our residents enjoy safer, healthier, and more efficient appliances, and send a clear message that our city is committed to moving beyond fossil fuel.
