Dear Menlo Park City Council,
If Atherton residents have already established a Quiet Zone, that’s the model to copy for Menlo Park.
We have a larger population, compared to Atherton, that would benefit from a city-wide QUIET ZONE.
After Menlo Park supported new rail-adjacent developments like SPRINGLINE, investing in a city-wide QUIET ZONE is a no-brainer. Let’s be consistent by making those new retail/pedestrian areas of Downtown Menlo Park, as well as all of the nearby established residential neighborhoods and parks, appealing to both the local community and visitors.
Reducing noise overall raises the quality of life in our corner of the world. This is an important issue for the majority of families and residents. I urge all members of the city council to support funding to make a city-wide QUIET ZONE a reality.
Sincerely,
Carol Broadbent
