Honorable Mayor and City Council:
I would like to first start by thanking the mayor and the council for their ongoing support of the revitalized Guild Theatre in downtown Menlo Park. This new music venue has been a breath of fresh air in our community and is in my humble opinion, one of the best projects to happen in Menlo Park in the 25 years that I have lived here.
As a 25 year resident of the Allied Arts neighborhood in Menlo Park, I would also like to express my full-throated support for the Clockworks Restaurant project next door. One of the best things about the Guild (beyond the incredible soul-lifting live music happening there all the time) has been the Menlo Park community gathering aspect- running into an old friend or former coach of my sons baseball team and sharing a serendipitous chat and laugh over a beer. Im convinced the restaurant will extend this dynamic. In addition, I am always in favor of more restaurants in Menlo Park as in my opinion we are still light in the downtown corridor, post-pandemic.
Thank you for your strong support of the Clockworks restaurant project. I believe this will be another very wise decision for the council to have made.
