TIME SENSITIVE: DOE grants available for electrification; app deadline 7/18

Hello, fellow Energy Enthusiasts...

I talked to a young entrepreneur at Stanford this week, whos interested in helping individual and organizational partners apply for hefty Department of Energy grants as part of its Buildings Upgrade Prize, so his company can work with them. You may already know about this DOE program, but in case you dont, Id like to share what Blake sent me. The deadline for these grants is July 18.
~~~~~~
SOURCE is an early-stage Stanford Climate Venture working to streamline the deployment of cost-effective building energy retrofits. We use a web-based retrofit analytics tool powered by National Lab data to provide commercial building owners with a personalized path to project success. We then connect them with verified energy service providers to meet their needs.
We are motivated to engage with partners who would like to apply to the U.S. Department of Energy Buildings Upgrade Prize with us. The U.S. Department of Energy has established the Buildings Upgrade Prize. These are 20-60 $400,000 and $200,000 grants to support actionable and scalable solutions to advance energy efficiency and efficient electrification upgrades in existing U.S. buildings. This is the first phase of what is expected to be a 4-phase Upgrade Prize grant. Therefore, beginning to develop efforts now can lead to further expansion of a successful initiative. SOURCE can take the lead. Application deadline is July 18.
"Equity-Centered Innovation Pathway - Propose a new initiative or innovation to an existing initiative for delivering scalable and replicable building upgrades to buildings in disadvantaged communities, low- and moderate-income (LMI) households, and underserved commercial, nonprofit, and public buildings, collectively referred to throughout this document as “equity eligible” buildings."
I am diving into this grant and it will require our coalition to receive a statement of interest from an equity-centered organization, which is defined in the commercial building space below:
—Buildings used by small disadvantaged businesses, which include small businesses that are majority minority-owned, women-owned, or veteran-owned. These businesses can own or lease their operating space.
—Buildings used by businesses that serve disadvantaged communities, especially businesses whose benefits or service offerings remain within the community.
—Title I schools, or schools with high percentages of students qualifying for free and reduced-cost lunch, high percentages of students from low-income families, or located in rural or remote areas. Applicants can use this DOE mapping tool to identify Title I schools: https://energyjustice-schools.egs.anl.gov/.
—Buildings used by nonprofit organizations that provide localized community services, such as emergency shelters, meal service centers, arts and culture organizations, and environmental, economic, and housing justice organizations. These nonprofits can own or lease their operating space.
—Buildings that provide critical community services, such as public community centers, libraries, emergency service providers, and childcare centers.
—Buildings designated or planned to be designated for use as resilience hubs or disaster shelters. These buildings are community-serving facilities augmented to support residents, coordinate communication, distribute resources, and provide temporary shelter during emergency and disaster relief situations. Resilient hubs aim to provide healthy buildings and energy security through efficient building design and operation, integration of renewables, and low-carbon backup power (such as batteries).
—Other commercial or nonprofit buildings defined as equity-eligible through community input.
Who else can make use of these DOE grants and, possibly, Blakes partnership? Will you please pass this along to them?
May I please give your name and contact info, as well as names/info for possible grantees to Blake?
Heres Blakes info, if you want to contact him directly, considering the deadline is 11 days away.
