I think the answer is/should be yes, yes yes
From what I have read in other cities they seem to be useful in helping the police solve crimes.
The privacy issue means nothing to me.
Safer wins over privacy for me.
These cameras (I think) with a computer system can notify the police of stolen cars or stolen plates.
When a crime is committed I think it is as simple as all plates minus residents = crime suspects.
