Dear City Council, Thank you for the opportunity to add in a comment, suggestion as it applies to the plaza space created at 600 Santa Cruz Ave.
Given only the options you mention I would cast a vote for Option 1, which leaves intact the existing bike lane, no parking, and several tables outside Walgreens to Starbucks. This space provides a space for the younger generation to collect and socialize after school. Although they can at times be loud and not so good about cleaning up after themselves; often leaving trash behind.
If possible I would like to explore a 4th option:
The option would open Santa Cruz Ave to traffic and parking; moving the plaza to the side street, Curtis. Perhaps you could investigate closing down Curtis from Santa Cruz ave to the parking lots. I feel this space, which I believe had been used for movie nights a few times, allows for the flow of traffic on Santa Cruz and moves the plaza into a safer area. The current plazascan be a bit unsightly and discourages some folks from visiting the stores on Santa Cruz ave.
