Dear Menlo Park Councilmembers,
Our family really appreciates the pilot program on Coleman that was
recently made permanent. It has really helped us feel much more comfortable
about our kids biking to and from school.
As a Laurel Elementary School family, Coleman is the way that our kid gets
to and from school.
However, we are hoping for a physical barrier between our biking children
and cars going twice their speed. Additionally, there are cars parked or
idling in the bike lane very very often, which then forces our kids into
the car lane. We are hoping that the city will consider installing flexible
posts along the bike lane. The paint on the ground does not feel sufficient
to make sure our children come home safely every day.
