Yes or No on P ???

Who should we Trust on Menlo Parks "Yes or No on P"?

Before you Vote, Please just DO THIS:

Walk or Drive downtown and see "YES on P" signs on almost all the stores.

AND, there is NOT even One "NO on P" sign on any store fronts downtown. (NONE !)

Go downtown and Ask any of the 130+ downtown store owners who signed a petition opposing the Councils plan:

"Are your parking lots "Excess Surplus Land?"

"Can you survive 5 years of construction disrupting your customer parking?

Then, Consider the 3,000+ of your neighbors who signed the "Yes on P" ballot petition !

Do any of them trust the city council, on this issue?

"No on P " allows the following:

Just 3 council members will "Officially" and Permanently declare our 90%+++ FULL Customer Parking lots as "Excess SURPLUS LAND"

( like an abandoned overgrown vacant lot ?????)

Then, 3 council members, can "GIFT IT" to a Private Developer for $1 dollar !

AND Also: Gift up to $45+ million (Probably More) of your taxpayer money to that same Private developer to fund the " $$$ GAPS" in their bid !

That is what No on P" will do !

The Downtown Parking Lots are NOT "Surplus Land", no matter what 3 council members or Sacramento says !

That is why "Yes on P" is necessary NOW!

"YES on P" just stops the 3 city council members "reckless decision" to declare our Downtown Parking Lots as "Surplus Land", AND Stops those 3 council members from "GIFTING" our parking lots, valued at $50+million dollars, to the PRIVATE developer, for $1.

Fact: Menlo Park is now in an on-going fiscal deficit ! AND, The citys own Feasibility Report says ; ALL 3 developers bids have serious financial GAPS !
( they are NOT Financially Feasible ! )

"Yes on P" just protects our Downtown Businesses AND us taxpayers.

"Yes on P" has no other purpose, or effect; and does NOT subject our city to the Builders Remedy.
AND:
It has Nothing to do with "80 Willow Towers" or any of the other risks, so often claimed.

ALSO: It will NOT stop development of our parking lots, IF we ever come up with a financially feasible plan.

A "Rogue Cabal" of Sacramento legislators Re-Defining "Surplus Land", does NOT change the real meaning of "Our Parking Plazas", in Downtown Menlo Park.

3 of our Council members , who are supposed to represent YOU, the taxpayers, have agreed to side with Sacramento legislators, instead of downtown businesses, and residents who oppose this FLAWED "idea".

No on P: benefits the City councils prideful "Legacy" and a Private developer !

YES on P: benefits the Downtown businesses and YOU the taxpayer. !

There are many BETTER LOCATIONS for state mandated apartments !

I no longer trust the city councils judgment on this limited issue.

Vote "YES on P ", if you agree.

Former Finance & Audit Commission member.
