Opps , I forgot this.
Of ALL the reasons to vote "Yes or No on P" . . . this is the BEST of ALL.
If you vote NO:
You will be able to go into each store in Downtown Menlo Park and say this:
( Heres your script )
"I voted NO on P,
BECAUSE:
I wanted State Mandated Apartments on your parking lots SO badly, that I voted NO, even though I know YOU and every store owner voted YES.
It is too bad it will disrupt your customer parking for 5 years, and will probably cause you to fire all your employees and Close you business down;
AND, I dont mind that the Apartments caused an increase in the sales tax, and the free parking has to be replaced by "Parking Meters" (to pay for the PRIVATELY OWNED parking ramp at the other end of Santa Cruz).
AND, its a rotten shame the city put an Extra Tax Assessment on every Store Owner, to pay for the Privately Owned multi-story parking ramp. (Luckily, The city said you can pass the tax on to your customers).
All in All. . . . I think it is a good trade.
We gain state mandated housing; in exchange for some collateral damage to the downtown businesses."
End of conversation !
Actually, I would not mention that you voted No on P, if you go downtown.
From some bad decisions, there is No Turning Back.
Think on these things.
