Dear Menlo Park City Council:
In your consideration of the resolution for city speed limits, please add Olive Street, between Middle and Santa Cruz, to the list of streets to be approved for a speed limit reduction from 30mph to 25mph.
Olive St is a major thoroughfare for Hillview kids on bikes and foot. Cars driving quickly, inconsistent bike lanes and missing rights-of-ways make Olive street very dangerous for children on foot and especially on bikes. This is very apparent for anyone who has been on Olive Street during school arrival/dismissal timeframes. The Hillview website labels Olive St as a suggested bike and walking route for students; please treat the street accordingly with a 25mph limit.
