I am working and unable to attend the City Council meeting today.
I did want to comment on agenda item H4, regarding speed limits. I live near Santa Cruz/Avy/Oakdell. There is a lot of pedestrian traffic in this neighborhood, including many children and people pushing strollers. For safety reasons, I agree with the reduction in speed to 25 mph on Santa Cruz Ave as recommended in the Staff Report. Reviewing the staff report, while I am not familiar with all of the streets, a speed reduction on Valparaiso is a great idea, too! We have to cross that to get to Las Lomitas and it is scary.....
