Please appoint the new Councilmember from District 3 to the Parkline Development Agreement Negotiations Ad Hoc Subcommittee
The potential Parkline Project is located in District 3.
The Councilmember who previously served on the subcommittee was from District 5, and did not run for election.
It only makes sense to appoint the incoming Councilmember from District 3 to replace the outgoing member on this two person Subcommittee.
The rationale behind district elections is to ensure that districts are represented on issues within their district.
As a precedent, the District 1 Councilmember was on the Willow Village DA Subcommittee, and was intricately involved in the negotiations. This Councilmember is currently on Subcommittees for the Community Campus and Commonwealth 3, in District 1.
It is fundamental that substantive discussions only start when the Councilmember is onboard and fully participating.
