Dear City Council –
Yesterday it was brought to our attention that several Facebook shuttles were stopped along the Bay Trail near the Dumbarton
Bridge. I wanted to let you know that we immediately reached out to our bus operator to correct this issue and will be monitoring
this going forward to ensure it doesn’t happen again. While we believe this be an isolated incident, we've taken the feedback
seriously and have already taken corrective action. I also personally responded to the concerned rider who flagged this issue for
us last night and he was appreciate of our quick movement on this.
Facebook has worked hard on improving public bike paths in and around our community, including the undercrossing below Bayfront
Expressway. We’re also investing in a new public ped/bike bridge over Highway 84, connecting to the Bay Trail, as a public benefit
to our community. I recognize that the bike path is used by many in our community including Facebook commuters and it’s our intent
to continue to make and improve safe bike routes and riding conditions.
