Thank you for your part in supporting the new bike route that will link the 4 cities between Mt. View to Redwood City. I regularly ride my bike in Palo Alto and Menlo Park, primarily using the bike lanes. But I’ve never figured out how to get to Redwood City. I am looking forward to following the new route. The article the Almanac mentioned that a bike trail beside the railroad tracks was under consideration. I really like that idea. Bikes would be separate from car traffic except at train crossings. There would be no stop signs every block or so as on city streets. I won’t have to fear the train coming into my lane — or “sharing” my lane — which is a hazard on city streets. Of course, that long, straight trail along the tracks would need feeder arteries. But I’m sure planners are considering this.
