Parking Lot project

I am sorry I was unable to attend this evenings meeting as I had intended.
I would like to put my two cents in anyway. I don’t see where a traffic study has been addressed with this project. Not only will it affect the businesses downtown, but will affect anyone trying to get around at all. As it is, if you live West of El Camino and want to go North or South on El Camino at certain times of the day you will be waiting through multiple lights. I’m very worried these major issues are not presented to the people living here in a timely manner and one that should reach everyone. I just now signed up to get emails because someone here on Nextdoor was good enough to post the current information.
Is this housing part of what you submitted to the state to make our housing quota? If so, even more reason the citizens of Menlo Park should be alerted.

I had once suggested all the empty offices could somehow be converted to apartments and was told they could not be. But maybe that could be something to look into. I’m not against new housing, and especially low income senior housing, but the problem of taking away parking which is already hard to find downtown, and adding that many more cars coming and going without some major road work in the plan - seems ludicrous.

As I said, I wish I had been at the meeting and would have hopefully walked away feeling better.
