I am writing in support of The New Guild. In looking at the success of the recent addition The Coffee Bar, it is clear that Menlo Park will strongly support new businesses, to the benefit of the community and the revenue of the city. Menlo Park is long overdue in having the tight grip of certain landlords preclude new businesses from thriving. The New Guild will further inspire people to patron existing (and hopefully upcoming) restaurants, and dive into arts as they have with the Pace Gallery. Exposure is all they need, bringing arts to the local scene will be embraced. Many are not interested in trekking up to San Francisco to patron the arts with a busy family schedule, yet will be thrilled to expose their kids right in our backyard.
