Honorable Menlo Park City Council,
I would love to see new affordable homes downtown in the city I love the most.
I grew up in Menlo Park and am now a college student that will likely not be able to return to live in the city I was raised in. When I am lucky enough to visit these days I love being able to walk around the various coffee shops and restaurants of downtown.
I often will take the train to visit friends that ended up in San Francisco. I currently can not afford a car and living in the heart of our downtown by our public transit would be a dream. I would love to one day return to the city I miss so much and be able
to walk most places I need to go and recognize my neighbors in grocery stores and at coffee shops. Ive heard people are worried about Menlo Park losing its charm due to this project but what could be better than an active community of friends and employees
who know you by name walking by every day instead of excess parking spaces. I want everyone to have an opportunity to safe housing and be walking distance from schools and jobs. It is projects like this that would mak e me proud to say what Menlo Park does
for the people that live there. It is projects like this that would allow me to come back to a community I miss so dearly.
Please vote "yes" to new affordable homes downtown on January 14th.
Thank you,
Joshua Meyers
