NO!!! ON DOWNTOWN HOUSING

NO!! on providing low income housing or any kind of housing in downtown Menlo Park.

This development will be highly disruptive to our retail and restaurant community which has been struggling since Covid. Work with business owners to bring back our once thriving downtown not cause more obstacles.

November’s council offered two alternative options for this housing project, use them!! The Sharon Heights option seems to be the
least disruptive.

Our downtown streets cannot accommodate a housing project like this with no or limited parking being created for tenants. Traffic is already congested on Oak Grove, Santa Cruz, and Menlo Avenue. Create more parking for downtown Menlo Park not cause more congestion.

There is no benefit for low cost housing or any housing project in downtown Menlo Park. Tenants will not shop at grocery stores nor dine at MP restaurants and cafes. They will go to RWC or MV. The project only benefits the developers. Who are they??

WHY IS THE COUNCIL TRYING TO RAM THIS PROJECT THROUGH SO FAST?? COMMUNITY AND BUSINESSES WERE NOT FULLY MADE AWARE OF THE PROJECT EARLY ON. MOST OF US ONLY HEARD ABOUT IT IN NOVEMBER!! WHY??? COUNCIL MEMBERS BENEFITING FROM AGREEING TO THE PROJECT??? YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF WHAT YOU DOING!!!

See you tonight!!
