Dear Council Members,
As a homeowner and 29-year resident of Menlo Park, I strongly urge you to move forward in adopting a resolution to declare downtown Parking Plazas 1, 2 and 3 as exempt surplus land and in authorizing city staff to release an RFQ for development on those locations. We have spent far too long preventing the development of any new housing in Menlo Park, particularly housing for the critical individuals who keep our city services, police and fire departments, schools, and local businesses running. Increasing the number of downtown residents will also help to increase the vibrancy of our commercial district without the need for increased use of private automobiles.
As a Menlo Park neighbor, I look forward to welcoming these new neighbors to our community.
Please show some leadership in getting these projects moving!
