Dear Mayor Ohtaki and esteemed Council Members,
I'm writing to remind the council that previous meetings showed support for the establishment of a Belle Haven Amenities Fund to
go along with the General Plan Update that made possible increased development in the areas in and around the Belle Haven
neighborhood.
It was the intent of Bohannon when developing the Menlo Gateway project several years ago to benefit Belle Haven as noted with the
$750K of capital improvements detailed in the Development Agreement. On Jan. 22, 2018 the Planning Commission completed its seventh

of the [https://www.menlopark.org/DocumentCenter/View/16486] Menlo Gateway Development Agreement (DA).But to date no fund has been
created.
We are writing to request that the city create a fund.
Currently the Hotel Nia is recruiting staff and is due to open in March in the General Plan Update Area. We request that the city
allocate a substantial portion of the hotel taxes from the hotel, and any hotel that is built in the General Plan Update Area, and
that those monies be placed into the Belle Haven Amenities Fund to be spent on amenities for improved quality of life for Belle
Haven community members.
With respect,
Julie Shanson, Cecilia Tayloron behalf of Belle Haven Action
