Crossing at Middlefield and Santa Monica/Linfield

Dear council members,
I am writing to you in regards to the crossing at Middlefield and Santa Monica/Linfield.My husband, 4 children and I live in the
Willows -- on Willow rd to be precise -- and I have experienced myself along with my children and observed others crossing
Middlefield at this intersection. Middlefield being such a busy road and the traffic in the neighborhood becoming so chaotic it is
becoming more and more dangerous and I would like to urge the City Council to help fund a safer crossing there.I know you have
been having conversations with the Parents for Safe Routes group and I am fully supportive of this initiative and other efforts to
make Menlo Park more pedestrian- and bike-friendly. This is the only alternative I see in this ever-growing traffic for residents
of the Willows and Lindenwood to access downtown Menlo Park and for children of those neighborhoods to ride their bike to Hillview
middle school for instance. With growing concerns about traffic in Menlo Park in general, I am hoping the council is actively
looking for opportunities to reduce traffic and I find the pedestrian/cylist-activated stoplights proposal by the Parents for Safe
Routes group to be a great solution to facilitate and encourage pedestrians and cyclists.
Best Regards,Anne-Sophie and Jean-Philippe Loose ▒▒▒▒ ▒▒▒▒▒▒ ▒▒▒
