Dear City Council-
My name is Jacqui Cebrian. I have been a resident of the Belle Haven neighborhood for 13 years. I am a member of Complete Streets Commission but opinions are solely mine.
I think Santa Cruz should be all pedestrian all the time. I don't like the cars only on one side model at all. I have often wondered why a small(ish) downtown in a town with such mild weather all year round doesn't have better outdoor dining areas. Santa Cruz is so well situated to become a vibrant outdoor space that people could enjoy. Some aspects of COVID are going to be with us for awhile and this is likely to not be the last contagious new virus that forces space between us. I urge you to take the step of converting this street to non-motorized uses. It's so much nicer to sit on a patio without traffic right next to the table.
I've long thought this would be a good use for Santa Cruz Ave. We are halfway there. It won't be this easy to do it again.
