in the Bay Area to release aRequest for Proposals to support Census 2020 education and outreach efforts of hard-to-count
communities in the nine-county Bay Area. More detail is outlined below.

Census 2020: Everyone Counts!
Accepting proposals April 15 – May 31, 2019,RFP coming soon
A fair and accurate census count is essential to numerous aspects of civic life, from allocation of billions of dollars in federal
funds in California alone, to political representation at all levels of government.When census information is not accurate, it
threatens to muffle the voices of historically undercounted groups, including people of color, immigrants, low-income communities,
and children.What’s more, California faces several unprecedented challenges to a complete and accurate Census 2020 count,
including significant underfunding of the U.S. Census Bureau, the proposed citizenship question, and a new online census
questionnaire.
To minimize the undercount in our region, The Bay Area Census Funders Collaborative – including Silicon Valley Community
Foundation, East Bay Community Foundation, Northern California Grantmakers and other funders in the region – will soon be
accepting proposals to support Census education and outreach efforts to hard-to-count communities in the nine-county Bay Area.
