received the attached letter that was sent to parents on Thursday last week but here you go.

tonight at 6:30 p.m. at the Main Library (800 Alma St.) and parents are encouraged to attend. MCC is offering childcare to parents
and if you are interested please contact Angelina Banda at (650) 330-2262 to reserve a spot for your child.

Subject: Library expansion onto the area of MCC
Dear Council Members/Library Commissioners,
It recently came to my attention that the Menlo Park Library is looking to expand. It is also with complete surprise that I
learned that one of the potential expansion sites is on the location where the current Menlo Children Center and After School
Program are located.
I am extremely disappointed that no one has reached out to us, parents, to alert us to a potential displacement. We have been
notified only recently and the messages we get seem to be mixed.
Having the MCC is critical to our family and is part of the reason we chose Menlo Park. We are a young family, both professionals,
myself being a graduate of Stanford GSB. We love Menlo Park but we would not be able to remain here if it weren't for the MCC. And
based on my discussion with other parents, many are like us.
Investing in Child Care should be a city priority, It can help attract young, professional families, many of which are excited to
join such a community and can contribute to the city. As a resident of Menlo Park, I believe strongly that a lack of investment in
chid care will hurt Menlo Park in the near and long term.
