Honorable Mayor Ohtaki and Council Members:Although the City Council primarily handles local issues, I urge you to consider
joining other voices in expressing outrage over the current US policy of separating children from their parents at the border.
Worldwide condemnation of this practice of human rights violations is being heard from a growing number of voices, including our
US Representatives Jackie Speier, Anna Eshoo and others. Pediatricians, religious leaders and citizens worldwide are calling on
President Trump to change course and do the right thing for these migrant children and their parents.Enclosed is a Staff Report
and proposed letter from the East Palo Alto City Council that may serve as an example of what can be done. You might say "let the
