Hello Mayor and Councilmembers,
Redwood City has been going through a similar strategic priorities exercise.
“Residents seek improved streets and sidewalks, more bike facilities and parks,” Redwood City Manager Stevenson Diaz wrote in the Feb. 8 presentation. https://www.rwcpulse.com/housing/2025/03/10/housing-and-transit-top-redwood-citys-202[…]L_CAMPAIGN_2025_03_07_07_32&utm_term=0_-fa1f3cdc37-113213568
“Community safety including enforcing traffic laws and prevention of incidents involving children and youth by partnering more closely with local school districts,” indicated as a top priority according to a recent CM Sturken community communications.
It is interesting to note that making the community more people-centric with a focus on those moving around the city by foot or bicycle and their safety as a higher priority than drivers and parking. Safe routes to school and the movement of children and youth moving around town safely and confidently should be paramount to the vibrancy of our community.
Thank you for your consideration.
