Hi Menlo Park City Council,
I have lived in Menlo Park for 30 years and I wanted to express my strong support for the continuation of the partial street closure of Santa Cruz Ave to expand the outdoor dining.
The expanded outdoor dining finally makes Menlo Park feel like a real downtown. It’s great to see people outside (laughing, talking, eating, socializing) and brings an entirely different energy level to our town.
I typically go downtown 3-4 times/week at different times/days, and I frequent several different stores on Santa Cruz Ave and neighboring side streets. The closure provides no inconvenience to me whatsoever – I just park in one of the parking lots and/or streets on either side of Santa Cruz Ave (Menlo or Oak Grove) and walk a ½ block.
I’m happy to speak with anyone to provide more feedback, but I ask that we continue to provide the expanded outdoor dining and leave parts of Santa Cruz Ave as a pedestrian way.
