As a resident of Felton Gables, where the train tracks are nearby, we hear the train horns at all times of day and night. It always seems to me that they are much louder than absolutely necessary. The flashing lights and barriers should do 90% of the job of alerting pedestrians, drivers and bicyclists.
As the noise gets louder in our everyday lives, the alarms at Encinal School, the daily blasts from gas blowers (let's make them go electric or ban them!), lowering the decibels from the trains sounds like a good move!
Thank you,
Brad Miller
