Re: War crimes across four countries

Aram,

The death toll continues to rise in Gaza amid an intensifying Israeli campaign of air strikes and bombings aimed at collectively punishing Palestinian civilians. Most media outlets have shifted away from in depth coverage of “the war”—the landmark Sunday shows haven’t mentioned it even once—and what was already an inadequate focus on the human consequences of Israel’s U.S.-facilitated genocide among legacy news outlets has receded into an afterthought. Israels relentless assault continues well beyond Gaza, with devastating bombardments ravaging Lebanon, Yemen and Syria—all fueled by an unending stream of U.S. support.

Since Israel resumed its scorched earth bombing campaign across Gaza on March 18, more than 2,300 Palestinians have been killed and 5,900 wounded, according to Gazas Health Ministry. These brutal military campaigns have slaughtered civilians daily and reduced entire neighborhoods to rubble. This moment demands more focus on Gaza, more voices from reporters on the ground. It is not just about responsible journalism, it is a moral imperative.

Can you make a tax-deductible donation today to support our investigations into Israel’s war crimes?

Just in the last week, Drop Site News has reported on:

* “Suicide drone” strikes on displacement camps in Gaza that killed at least 30 Palestinians, including 14 children over a one week period.

* Israel’s use of U.S. manufactured “bunker busters” on targeted attacks against civilian families in Lebanon.

* Israel’s contention that its ongoing aerial assaults are focused on killing “militants,” and that its sophisticated targeting capabilities offer the ability to abort missions should its forces detect civilians in the strike zone. We have reported on how civilian deaths continue to skyrocket in these alleged precision strikes, including the murder of whole families as they sleep in makeshift tents.

* How Israel’s two-month full-spectrum blockade of all food and medicine has forced displaced Palestinians in Gaza to employ extreme and inventive survival techniques in a desperate struggle to survive.

* A new ceasefire draft, obtained by Drop Site, that revealed significant changes Hamas is unlikely to accept, including demands for Gazas total disarmament and continued Israeli military presence—terms that directly contradict the original January framework agreement that Israel signed, the U.S. guaranteed and then Netanyahu unilaterally violated.

The role of an independent press has never been more critical. While other outlets have pulled back from reporting on Israels scorched earth attacks across Gaza and its war mongering in the region, we continue to expand our reporting and investigations. We are a small, independent news outlet, but we are committed to providing our readers hard hitting journalism that pulls no punches and believes in taking on the powerful.

Will you support our continued investigations with a tax-deductible donation today?

Unlike other news organizations, weve made it our commitment not to regularly inundate you with fundraising emails. We believe our journalism should speak for itself. We have a commitment never to put our journalism behind a paywall because we believe this reporting should be available to everyone. But the reality is that our work depends entirely on voluntary financial support from our readers. Every day, our journalists on the ground in Gaza, the occupied West Bank, Lebanon, Syria, and elsewhere risk their lives to report stories and information you will not find anywhere else. These brave journalists know that their work—their ability to share crucial information with the world—is directly fueled by our reader support.

The forces that want to silence reporting on Gaza and other abuses of power are counting on our financial model to fail. Each donation is a declaration that you wont let powerful interests determine what gets defined as newsworthy.

P.S. Your support is not just an investment in journalism; its a stand against those who would prefer the crimes of the powerful crimes remain hidden and unchecked. If you are unable to contribute to our work financially, we understand. You can still do your part by sharing our work with your friends, family, adversaries, and audiences.
